English versi Whatever :)

The worst thing about being a teacher is…..you have to regain the momentum of teaching and working after a holiday. No amount of coffee can help us in the morning, what’s more at the staffroom we don’t have any cubicle to “hide” and dream while every other teachers are still reminiscing their holiday memory with their family. Gahhhhh..not helping at all.

But no matter how lazy Teacher Noa can be, I will drag my butt into classroom, for the sake of collecting the homework that I've given to my pupils. Haha, I love giving them homework, but not so loving it when it comes to check it. Like seriously. Cause it can give you both tears of joy and heart attack at the same time.

So, the task I had given for the one week's holiday was very simple. I had provided the pupils with like hundreds of action verbs in a list, and the pupils got to choose 30 action verbs and construct a sentence each of the action verbs, in present continuous tense structure. For example; eating- My sister is eating sandwich at the cafe.

Only 30 sentences like this, easy peasy right? But NOT to my pupils, cause English is not even their fifth language and I guess teaching them Deutsch should be easier, and my friend even claimed that he is more willing to teach American Literature than English in his school. Talk about the educators' dilemma. Haha lame!

So, these are what I got in return, I called them "English versi Whatever".

jogging- Amir is jogging at the taman. (hmmm..the rojak English that we often use.)
fishing- Johan is fishing ikan. (and again!)
snatching- The cow is snatching grass at the field. (snatching - meragut? a misconception of grazing right? Aiyooo)
milking- Mom is milking at the kitchen. (salute to breastfeeding mom eh?)
selling- Mazlan is selling Ambia at Betong. (pemerdagangan manusia? Oh my!)

.........and I got lots of these types of sentences from my precious pupils! But somehow I must be thankful as my pupils are slowly developing the understanding in English and improving somewhere compared when I first taught them in January. And some of them had started to do well in English. Weeho :)

Geddit?

Nevertheless, what does not kill me will surely make me stronger to teach and inspire my pupils. I don't really mind to sacrifice my time and source provided that these pupils will work hard for their future. InshaAllah :)

My last year's English Education pupils :)

A home teacher for Year One 2011 :)

Our humble school, very the kampung right?

And none pixels from 2012 yet. Still. Busy. Teaching. Ok? Ya right :P

I love March

Sebab ada school holiday, a week! But first of all, Happy International Women's Day on this 8th March.I wish all women around the world to continue being strong for your loved one and yourself. Hope all of us will love and appreciate ourselves more and know what we worth.

Women of chomelness :)

Oh, let's back to planning cuti I. We won't go anywhere though, cz rasanya tengok wajah kesayangan hubby saya is enough that I don't bother to go anywhere except beside him. Yerrr :) 3 weeks uols, of course saya windu. Tapi, ada planning banyaks dah menunggu. Cuti is not an entirely cuti lah for me, still ada 'kerja' yang menunggu. Like:

1. Baking: Dah dapat 'memo arahan' from bro-in-laws to continue bake and sell our Cheesy Potato Pie and Cottage Pie cz banyaks dah our customers tanya about our pies. Remember my entry? Click here okay. So I say, why not lah kan? Boleh lah menambah my dress from Thepoplook.com nanti. Ze geniuz ideaz. And my sis dah suggest to bake Carrot Cake with Cheese Frosting and  I dah terrrrrcakap and terrrrrsuggest to bake Caramel Choc Cake. And hubby dah request karipap dia, and mom dah request Kerabu Sotong. And @dariamoe had suggested to try her sweet tooth formula, okay..must try. Oh my! Haih, wher's my healthy eating resolution? Okay, in moderation in moderation in moderation. Haha. And I'm sure the food request list will go on lah.

Kek Coklat Karamel (pic credit to: UmmiZaihadi). Kek Pelangi Karamel (mine!)
and Kek Lobak Merah (pic credit to: rasa.com.my)

2. TTC: Akan try the kurma and susu kambing formula together with hubby, and BD dengan happy nya and stress free, inshaAllah :) Ada hikmahnya AF datang lambat that day, hihi.

3. School: Done with preparing homeworks to my Y6 pupils, but later on I still have to do Analisis Item and Analisis Respon Murid for their Pra UPSR test this week. Oh haruskah Sudinnnnnnn? Diharap I will be rajin enough to do this lah, finger crossed. Ok, lame.

What's more eh? Guess still ada yang tertinggal. Hmmm, sokayyy..mesti enjoy cuti smemntara terlupa haha.. And lastly, about SBPA that had been scrapped today. Okay, dengan fikiran suci ini, I am glad to have that 13% increment compared to what offered from SBPA before. Cz yang SBPA dulu, my increment after tolak pelarasan gaji tahunan SSM is only RM3. Homaiii..bukan tak syukur, but what RM3 can cover now when semua harga barang naikkan? Though I know, pengumuman PM tadi pun is like a happy news to peniaga as they will hike the price on everyday's goods kan. One increment, twice hike. Whatevs. Gaji naik or not, the price will still akan naik.

Hmmm, that's all lah, Happy Holiday uols! or Happy Weekend ya :) Muahs.

Good deeds for my body

March came swiftly into 2012, and I am glad I had done good deeds to my body :) Three good deeds!

1. Skipping fast food :)
Though it was only for two weeks now, but skipping those oily and cholesterol-loaded food makes me feel good, feeling lighter and guilty-free towards my body and my pocket.

Bye bye buddy :|

2. Drink detox tea :)
It's been a while since I am doing a mini detox program for my body, and yesterday I had drank Renulife Detox Tea. Oh boy, it tasted gooooood and the side effect was mild though I expected there will be 'a scrapping sound from inside' that indicates the formula is detoxifying my body. The verdict: I feel lighter (once again!) today in the morning and Madam Tummy is less bloated than before.**Madam Tummy here is referring to wobbly tummy I have and I'd like to change her status into Miss Tummy if she is ever flat again. Can?

Hello precious :)

3. Stocking up my fruits and vege supplies :)
I stocked up some oranges, apples, spinach and corns into my fridge for a week supply only since next week will be a school holiday, woot woot :) A healthy snack to replace my junks, and yes, now I am resorting to full cream milk and a little of ice cream, one time a day since I read somewhere it was proven to help increase women fertility. Guiltless and yummy indulgence I can say.

And hye there new bff :)

And yes, since I mention twice that I feel lighter, the truth is, it is NOT! I am a kilo heavier now that that's how the good deeds had recently become a big agenda in March and my 2012 health transformation plan. I still remembered an asylum moment when filling up an insurance health form last month, it goes like this:

Weight: __________________ kg
Kg gain per year: ___________ kg
Reason: ___________________________________________________________________________

So, tell me how can you fill the last part? Can I write it's hormonal? or I am darn happy that I eat lots? Or I stressed much last year and I don't care what goes into my mouth? Or I am a lazy bum and I don't go exercise that often? Gahhhhh, you tell me babes! In the end, I decided to left the entire columns blank as they are.

And yet, I won't categorize myself into someone fat, but I just afraid that I gain weight without myself noticing it because I already had this lunatic "I feel lighter" feeling.

My Pink Booklet

I had no internet connection yesterday :c because I thought my broadband bill should be paid on the 8th monthly, but not! It was on the 27th monthly. So, since my line was barred, that had given me more time to do my extra effort to prepare for my English class. The perk of being connection-less, but it was bearable for like half a day only :) haha..

So, I decided to create a booklet for my English subject. This booklet is a mini book where I put all the vocabulary that are essential and must know for my pupils in order for them to pass in UPSR, or at least I think so. It's like a mini dictionary for them, and hummm have you ever heard a story of a student that copied her friend's dictionary cause she was so determined to learn English yet she was so poor to afford a dictionary? We have the same storyline, the same determination but my version is I am a not-so-poor teacher that determine to teach my pupils English and yet my pupils don't care to afford any dictionary despite of receiving Wang Bantuan Persekolahan and B1RM (the parents'). So I have to copy for them. All I can say is this is the jerk of my job, since the school fee was vanished earlier this year, asking money for whatsoever reason from the pupils is a big NO NO.

Oh, do not let me continue listing out the jerks and the perks of being Teacher Noa, haha. You better proceed to the pictures below,

Presenting my humble booklet~~~

Pink rules!

The vocabulary list :)

A humble pink booklet, with Android icon as cover, on my thick pink book and my pink-wrapped table :) I hope my pupils will find this booklet useful especially for the morning prayer program, Sarapan Ilmu as we called it where pupils will read and memorize important notes and vocabulary/key words from various subject before the class starts every morning. They even use the booklet in classroom for their sentence construction exercise etc etc. See? Oh dear, please make my little effort worth! (...so that I am motivated to do MORE!)

Pink and a lil bit of comotness, whatevs :|

And, this is a thick pink book that I'm talking about earlier, the one that our teacher carried everytime she stepped in our class before learning session. Remember?

Evening Primrose Oil

Howdie dolls, after few entry about food before this, now back to my TTC story. Because my 2WW dah over, it was 3WW actually, huhuh. My regular cycle is until CD27, tapi this month it was a little bit stray, until CD33. Buat I upset serba sedikit sebab dah berharap as it is very unusual for me to have a week delay and AF arrived setibanya Dear Hubby arrived dari Kuching. Haha, double frustration here if u got what I mean. And, since last cycle was a very stressful one especially like everyday big boss gave me the pressure because my pupils nak sit English exam, plus ada makan Panadol CF due to flu yang teruk and Ponstan sebab backache.

So I decided to continue consuming Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) capsules again this month sebab I suspect my AF was delayed due to tak religiously consume EPO this past month sebab I dah ada other new *supplement* kesayangan on my shelf, haha :) But, my favourite EPO is always Nn Evening Primrose Oil 1000 from Cosway. I decide to take it from my CD1 until the day I rasa I ovulate or after the appearance of EWCM habis. And of course, selalunya bila consume EPO religiously, my cycle pun back to normal, inshaAllah taala.

2 biji per day equal to 2000mg. In search of EWCM :)

Okay, apart from regulating period, EPO ni pun sesuai untuk:

  • Relieve PMS (irritability, breast tenderness, bloating, abdominal cramps, water retention)
  • Reduce menopausal symptoms (hot flushes, mood swings, vaginal dryness, sleeping problems)
  • Relieve eczema (reduces scaliness, redness, dryness and roughness)
  • Improve cracked heels
  • Reduce dry skin, fine lines and wrinkles
  • Repair dry, damaged hair and eliminate dandruff
  • Strengthen brittle, flaking nails
  • Alleviate stiffness and join pains

See? how useful EPO for us women? For our womanly hormones to those symptoms on our Mayday to beautify our skin, hair and nails :) But honestly, after kahwin last time yang I gatal try Yasmin, I have this dryness at many parts of my body, my skin, my eyes, my lips and that very part, EPO ni lah penyelamat. Instant relief, phewww~~ So, why not I continue this regimen since dah terskip last month yang dah buat my cycle strayed. And yes, rasanya I really need this EPO to regulate my cycle, sebab sometime I do think and becoming scare if I have any risk of PCOS, sebab berat badan dah 2kg lebih from my ideal weight and now my skin is quite pimply along jawline a week or two before AF. Takut this problem will menyukarkan TTC kan?

So, semoga this month my cycle akan jadi normal and hopefully ada EWCM cause sekarang dah up kan dose to 2000 mg per day :) Note to self: Stay positive and enjoy lah time mid term school break 2 minggu lagi :) oh yeah!

**And to my dear friends yang regularly baca my other entry, sorry this time banyak term untuk TTC. Boleh belajar lah kan, you never know these terms might become handy to you one day. Cause I dulu pun ingat senang nak dapat anak ni, rupanya tidak eh eh :) Kena banyak usaha kan? Hihi.

Kisah Hot Plate dan Orang Bodoh

Last night, my housemates and me tak masak. Sebab beras tinggal sikit. So we decide to makan-makan kat luar. Dah decide esok-esok je beli beras. Then off we go, kat satu kedai yang ada-potensi-but-with-masalah-attitude kat Betong yang aman damai ni. Sampai kedai tu, have to wait 10 minutes jugak untuk dorang ambil order. Then after placed order, one by one lah dish datang.

I ordered Japanese Tofu Hotplate, and now the story began.

Benda ini yang I imagine I akan dapat, hmm..
Pic credit to yvonnesam.blogspot.com

Tukang masak tu masak tofu tu berasingan dari hotplate. Tofu yg siap letak dalam mangkuk, and another hotplate was put on a table in front of me. Then before serve kat our table, waitress tu telungkup kan mangkuk tofu tu atas hotplate, dgn cara yang agak kasar, seolah-olah lontarkan mangkuk tu kat hotplate, sebab it is hot I know. And ada yang tumpah-tumpah lagi tu. Right in front of my eyes.

Kalau tuang sopan-santun macam ni, boleh lah accept kan. Ni tidak!

Then, tgh hotplate tu berasap dgn maha hebatnya, waitress bodoh tu terus hantar dish tu depan muka I, exactly in front of my eyes. Berasap till I can't see muka my friend in front of me. Rasanya the whole customer in kedai tu semua dah menoleh. So, I alihkan hotplate tu kat tepi sikit. Cause dah feeling ala² mengewap muka dah.

It was like this, in front of my very face :(

Then datang seorang pelayan lelaki push that hotplate again in front of my face, sambil kata, ''benda ni memang makan panas-panas macam ni!'' Whattt? Terus I balas balik, ''kalau nak makan pun, takkan macam nak asap²kan muka saya, panas macam ni. Bongok ke apa ni?''. Okay, hati dah start panas dah sebab ada yang dah berlagak kuang ajar.

Hmm..perut lapar, so makan jugak sikit waima hati dah menggelegak. Tak habis pun makan, only 1/5 jer yang dijamah. Then masa nak bayar, I decide to sound orang kedai tu..''Ni saya nak bagi tau sikit, next time uols hidang hotplate, tak payah lah nak telangkupkan depan muka customer and hantar benda yang masih gelegak berasap-asap macam tu. Tak bagus, tak sopan tau. Orang datang kat sini nak makan. Kalau nak hidang, buatlah siap-siap kat dapo''. Terus budak cashier tu (anak tokey kot) jawab, ''Alah, memang benda tu dimakan macam tu, camtu lah cara hidang nya!'', menjawab dengan muka masam tak nak ditegur sambil mencebik-cebik bibir. So saya pun, ''Hotplate tu memamg biasa dah I makan, tapi takde plak orang lain hidang berasap-asap banyak sangat macam u buat. Tak sopan! Tak bagus macam tu, berasap-asap habis satu meja tak nampak apa dah. And next time kalau orang tegur, u terima je, jangan nak buat muka sombong pulak!''.... (dah lah bodoh, sombong pulak tu...kata hati saya). Tapi boleh jugak ada mak cashier tu berdiri di srbelah anaknya yang dah diteur tadi buat muka bodo jerr.

I have to, haha..

Oh hairan :( Then I just berlalu dari kedai tu dengan rasa puas hati after luahkan apa yang I tak puas hati. Walaupun dalam hati rasa nak korek² jer mata budak bodoh tu. Ishhhh..

But seriously, keluar dari kedai tu, muka jadi oily, tudung memang macam bau kena tumis dah dah, my two other friends pun dah busuk² jugak. Sakit hati yang real punya, lain kali kalau ada orang buat the same, rasa nak jatuhkan jer hidangan tu tolak² dari atas meja. Tapi kesian makanan, rezeki, bukan salah ia pun. Hummm..

If I can ever do this kannn?

But, moral of the story: Kalau nak berbizness tu, ikhlaskan hati. Jangan buat kerja tak senonoh, jangan layan macam customer tu mintak sedekah kat kedai awak. Or kalau ada pekerja yang buat kerja bodo² ni, tegur. Jangan biarkan cause pekerja macam ni lah yang akan tolak rezeki awak. And kalau ada orang menegur, belajar lah nak terima. Jangan nak lawan² cakap. Customer is always right, cause rasanya, kalau ada 10 customer yang tak puas hati, maybe seorang jer yang sanggup tegur. Tu pun saya tak terus 'maki' guna word macam kuang ajarrr, bodoh, mudahan kau bankrap walaupun attitude uols layak menerima makian sebegitu. Banyak customer yang akan terus tak akan datang kedai macam tu daripada menegur kan. You have to agree with this. And lastly, kalau bodoh jangan sombong. And kalau sombong, tak perlu nak bodoh. And sentiasa bersedia terima teguran. Or else, awak akan mati dalam keadaan bodoh sombong. And I only say the stupid word to those yang really deserve it, why not.

Still geram.

Kerabu Sotong

Last night was my first time tasting this delicacy. I'd say I fall in love at the first taste of this kerabu sotong :-)  The mixture of the herbs and the greens that tingled my tastebuds made me go awwww and the succulent of cuttlefish was perfected by the combination of lemon juice and spiciness from the bird-eye chilies. On the different note, I feel blessed moving out from my quarters in school and now renting with other fellow teachers here. No more selfish and lazy housemate :-) Alhamdulillah.

Now, the sharing part or as a reminder for myself, I'd like to jot down the recipe of this delicious Kerabu Sotong.

Ingredients:

Cuttlefish- cleaned and boiled in hot water for few minutes

Tomato, lemon grass, bird-eye chillies, bunga kantan, long beans - chopped finely

Lemon juice, sugar to taste, finely chopped onion, fish sauce- mixed together

In a bowl, mixed all the ingredients together. Adjust the amount of the herbs/greens and the juice just nice, not too much nor too little. Chilled for a while to give the kerabu to 'mingle around' with each other before serving. Voila :-)
